A thyroid uptake and scan involves a fee of ₱1,500 to ₱4,300. In most cases, this is an expensive test and HMOs do not cover it. The lowest price that we found is Php 3,400 from a government hospital. Among private hospitals, Capitol Medical Center offers it from Php 4,200 and above.

Our parents had this scan before at Capitol Medical Center. There is a waiting time of 24 hours for the uptake of radioactive material. The scan showed nodules in the thyroid but was then treated by RAI.
