Room Rates of Hospitals in Philippines

Hospital room rates and prices depend on the available type. Usually, private rooms are more expensive than ward. We have compiled a list of hospital room prices so you can compare the rates of each hospital in the Philippines.

Room Types

Hospitals have several options when it comes to confinement and admission. The most popular rooms are ward, semi private, regular private and suite. For special needs, ICU and NICU are also available to patients.

Room Rates Per Day

Different hospitals offer room prices on a per day basis. On the average, hospital rooms may range from Php 1,750 to Php 11,000 per day. Depending on the patient’s need and preference, you can choose the more affordable room and accommodation packages.

The more amenities the room has, the higher the price rate it will have. For some patients, rooms that are equipped with facilities similar to a hotel are preferred. However, even basic rooms can provide ample space for patients to recover.

Different room types are available in both private and government hospitals. Depending on the number of occupants and included amenities, room prices will be different based on categories of services.

Ward

A ward is a room type where multiple patients share a common area while recovering. Hospital ward price rate per day can range from Php 150 to Php 300 in most facilities especially in public hospitals. Check the price list in hospitals to make a comparison.

Semi Private Room

The semi private room in a hospital is a room type that usually accommodates at least two (2) patients at any given time. It may have dividers for each bed for privacy. A semi private room rate in hospitals can range from Php 900 to Php 1,500 per day in the Philippines. However, it is best to contact each hospital in your area since they have different rates.

Private Room

A hospital private room is a single occupancy room where only one patient is allowed to use it at any given time. Usually, this is expensive and may have more amenities and features. A private hospital room rate in the Philippines can range from Php 2,000 to Php 3,000 in most private hospitals.

Executive or Suite Room

A suite in hospital defines luxury. In some cases, the amenities are similar to a hotel room. It is the most expensive hospital room with lots of features and benefits. The price rate of suite rooms in hospitals in the Philippines may start from Php 10,000 or more per day. Usually, these are the most expensive rooms types because they provide amenities that no other rooms have.

ICU

A special type of room may be needed by patients who require extra care, attention and device or equipment. These are called Intensive Care Units.

The ICU cost per day in the Philippines can start from Php 3,500 and up. Some government hospitals offer Php 1,500 per day per patient.

NICU

NICU or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit may be more expensive. NICU rates per day in Philippine hospitals may range from Php 3,000 to Php 5,000. These facilities are best for babies with congenital disorders.

PICU

The pediatric intensive care unit is a special room wherein babies and children can recover. Critically ill young patients will be able to receive the proper care in these rooms. The price rate of PICU per day may range from Php 1,500 to Php 5,000 depending on the hospital.

Incubator Cost

In most cases, babies who may need to be confined either in NICU or PICU may require an incubator. The price of incubator per day may be an additional cost of Php 2,000 and above. However, most hospitals will include this in the room rates.

Standard Rooms are for those who are:

• Undergoing confinement treatment
• Having an Executive check up

Intensive Care Unit rooms are for those in critical condition and may need to use additional equipment and devices available in ICU.

The bigger the room, the higher its price per day. In most hospitals, at least 19 square meters could be the standard for a private room. Suites will have bigger room areas and size so prepare to spend more per day.

If you are expecting a significant number of visitors, it is best to have the maximum floor space of room that you can afford. Patients that require medical devices may need spacious rooms.

HMO For Rooms

Almost all HMO companies will cover a certain amount when it comes to room and accommodation expenses. If you have a health card, you may use it to reimburse the expenses or simply use it right away upon confinement.

You need to check with your provider the amount of the coverage per room and per day. The higher your health card premium is, the higher the coverage for room and board in hospitals.

Required Deposit

There are required deposit rates for each room type. Those who will undergo surgery will have to pay depending on 1 to 3 days of stay and more than 3 days of stay.

Surgical patients need to deposit a higher amount compared to medical consultation and confinement patients.

Payment Modes

You can pay in cash when you proceed to the cashier. However, you may also ask if credit card payments are available. Usually, you may need to attend to your Philhealth account first to know how you can avail the coverage.

Payment Terms
