Tuberculosis can be detected through simple skin procedures with PPD. Hospitals and clinics may charge from ₱4,300 to ₱7,500 for such TB skin test. The lowest rate starts at ₱3,800 found in a public hospital. Health cards do not cover this as well as Philhealth.

How can I get a free test for TB?
There are LGU that offers DOTS services to their constituents. You may want to try inquiring from any of these public hospitals from your local health center.
Is there a hospital where the price is more affordable?
For your convenience, we have found that the Lung Center of the Philippines has some of the cheaper rates when it comes to tuberculosis tests.
I once inquired from a local diagnostic clinic in QC and the rate as a package starts from Php 4,200. This clinic is in Kalayaan Avenue.
What should I do before the skin test?
The blood test will involve injecting a small amount of fluid tuberculin into your skin. If you have a swelling part in the injection site after 48 to 72 hours, you may have tuberculosis.
A positive result means you have the disease but the evaluation should come from a medical professional. The swelling of the test area will be evaluated.
One of our staff underwent this test and the reaction time was quick. We were told that she had an existing infection but was considered mild. You too can have the test to see if you are exposed or have an existing TB infection.
