Did your dog bite you? How about a scratch from your cat? Such wounds may cause rabies infection if the animal is infected. The good news is your Quezon City government is offering free anti rabies shots for animal bites. See the list of centers where you can have the vaccine.
Requirements
The accepted proof of residency include but not limited to valid ID, or National Immunization Program (NIP) vaccination card and a school ID for children.
List of Quezon City Free Anti Rabies Locations
Depending on where you live, you may proceed to any of the specified animal bite centers sponsored by the LGU.
- District 1 – Project 6 Health Center, Road 8, Alley 3, Barangay Project 6, Quezon City.
- District 2 – Batasan Hills Super Health Center, IBP Road, Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
- District 3 – Socorro Health Center, 1 15th Avenue, Socorro, Quezon City.
- District 4 – Tatalon Health Center, 31 Victory Avenue, Tatalon, Quezon City.
- District 5 – Kaligayahan Health Center, 7 Kingfisher Street, Kaligayahan, Quezon City.
- District 6 – Melchora Aquino Health Center, Lobos Street, NIA, NPC, Tandang Sora, Quezon City.
Can I go as walk-in or is there a schedule?
Based on research, the free injection is provided daily from Monday to Friday 8 AM to 4 PM. You can go during these times to avail of the vaccination for rabies. Note that this detail may change without notice due to the current situation.
Price of the Shot
If you are a resident of QC, you may avail anti rabies injection from recognized centers with pay. This might happen if you need immediate vaccination due to various circumstances. It is best to see the price of anti-rabies in animal bite centers.
Location of Anti Rabies Clinic
The Animal Bite Center in Quezon City Hall could be the primary center where you can avail the free vaccine. The complete anti rabies dosage will be given as long as supplies last. Check out the implementing rules and regulations to avail the service.
Are Residents from Other Cities Qualified?
The free vaccine is only available to Quezon City residents as of the moment as part of the city ordinance. However, we will keep you posted if there are new information. Residents of the city will usually have priority services. However, you may also inquire if the anti rabies vaccine is also available to those living from other areas.
What Animal Bites Are Covered By The Free Vaccine?
Mostly, dog and cat bites are high risks for rabies. However, their scratches or even when they lick your open wound could be a reason for you to get anti rabies vaccines. Ask the doctor at the center to know more if you need such injection.
Is There A Consultation Fee?
Make sure to go to the center and ask if there are any additional fees and charges. As of the moment, we only have info on the vaccine locations.
