Debridement may be needed by patients with existing wounds. Depending on the cause, the procedure may involve different ways to treat it. The price of wound debridement starts from Php 500 for minor wounds.

Suturing Cost
Wounds with open areas may require suturing. The cost of suturing may range from Php 700 to Php 2,000 depending on the extent of the damaged tissues. Other expenses that you need to know are:
- Anesthesia
- Incision and Drainage of Abscesses

Deductions from Philhealth
There is a specific case rate coverage from Philhealth when it comes to debridement and related treatment. You may be covered from Php 2,000 to Php 11,000 again depending on the actual cost and extent of the wound.
Some health cards from HMO companies also cover this procedure since emergency cases are covered. We have interviewed a patient at the ER about a motorcycle accident causing severe wounds. He was able to use his HMO.
The wound treatment that we have seen in most hospitals is due to cuts and burns. I have also personally witnessed a procedure due to an accident. The price that the patient paid amounted to Php 3,000 including the sutures.
Go To Emergency Room
For injuries, an emergency room procedure may be required. Lesions and open wounds with bleeding may be attended by a resident doctor in an ER. The service for debridement is usually available in such situations.
