I’ve read that a CT scan is similar to a powerful x-ray which can detect tumors and cancers. The fee for this diagnostic test usually ranges from ₱5,000 to ₱9,000 or more depending on which body part requires the test. With contrast, the price may be higher as requested by the doctor.
Cheapest price: Php 3,800 (brain in a public hospital)
Hospitals with CT Scan: Makati Medical Center, St. Luke’s, PGH, Medical City, UST Hospital
Hospital Prices
Hospital | Estimated Prices |
---|---|
St. Luke’s | 8,000 |
UST Hosptial | 7,000 |
Capitol Medical Center | 7,800 |
Makati Medical Center | 9,000 |
Some health cards can cover the full amount but others after only the first year. The cheapest of this test is ₱3,800 in a public hospital. Similar to this test is MRI which you can also check out the price.
Best CT Scan Hospitals
My preference is to have it at a private hospital. Yes they are more expensive but it is more convenient because sometimes, public hospitals may have too many patients. Here are some of the top hospitals for CT Scan services.
Asian Hospital
FEU Hospital
Iscan
Capitol Medical Center
Manilamed
St. Luke’s Medical Center
De Los Santos Medical Center
Medical City
Some doctors may request for a version with triple contrast useful for abdominal diagnostics. On the other hand, triphasic type starts at ₱13,000 and above which may also be utilized for the abdomen.
The number of slice will also determine the actual price. Available are 4, 8, 16, 32, 40, 64 and 128 slice.
Can I get MRI instead of CT Scan?
In most cases, CT scan is cheaper than MRI since the latter involves a different machine. For the most part, MRI is used to create images with great detail especially in the tissue level.
Diseases and medical conditions can be diagnosed using the machine. Some of them may include but not limited to Brain tumor, Leukemia, Breast, Bone, Lung, Prostate, and colon cancer.
Its main benefit is clear imaging. Unlike with traditional X-rays, this test provides clear pictures of the insides of the body in multiple slices.
How should I prepare for CT Scan?
You may be asked to fast for a few hours before the scan, particularly if you’re having a scan with contrast.
