Is It the Best Hospital?
Don’t be fooled about the fact that it is a public hospital. The Philippine General Hospital is comparable to big private hospitals according to a Business Mirror article.* While its medical rates are low, it uses modern medical facilities together with highly skilled doctors.
The prices of services at PGH vary but are usually affordable. For qualified patients, the services are free of charge like those in charity or indigent patients. However, paying patients can enjoy quality medical service even for a cheaper price.
I thought Services are Free
Remember that the hospital has two segments, the paying and charity sections. Those who can afford to pay for a medical service may opt to avail it with minimal cost compared to other hospitals. Of course the charity section is free of charge.
