Stroke can change your life in an instant. Moreover, medical expenses will also be an added stress. The treatment price for this condition starts from Php 1,500 for immediate medication and up to Php 600,000 for emergency surgery.
Here are some of the related expenses when it comes to recovery:
Medication
An emergency medication may be provided to the patient. The price of drug treatment may range from Php 40,000 to Php 80,000 per vial such as the alteplase (tissue plasminogen activator). Note that only the doctor can prescribe specific medicines for the condition.
Physical Therapy
How much is therapy in hospitals? In the Philippines, the cost of physical therapy can range from Php 700 to Php 1,200. This usually covers only the sessions needed by the patient after an initial medical procedure.
Not all patients will recover immediately. Some may experience movement problems, speech and thinking impairment. That’s why most packages will include physical, speech and occupational therapy whichever is appropriate.
Diagnostic Tests
There are other expenses that the patient needs to consider and they may include tests and medications. For example, a recent attack may require additional CT Scan or MRI scan to see if there are improvements in one’s health.
The doctor will make a treatment program depending on the patient’s status. These prices are just approximates and may be different per patient’s needs.
Surgery
Surgery price can range from Php 200,000 to Php 600,000 depending on the situation especially if it relates to blood clot removal. A craniotomy may be performed which technically opens up the skull to clean up any clots.
