The health card provided by the company is your gateway to availing medical services. To use it, simply identify the hospital where you wish to avail medical services and present your account details.
One unique feature of Maxicare as an HMO company is the existence of its primary care clinics. These are facilities owned by the company where members may avail medical services. One may have a consultation with resident doctors, avail annual physical exam or undergo basic diagnostic tests included in the health plan.
To maximize your benefit, you may go to a Maxicare Primary Clinic if one is nearer than an accredited hospital. As a member, you can get some of the medical services for free as part of your policy. Choosing Your Room for Confinement
Health cards usually have a specific amount of coverage called the Maximum Benefit Limit or MBL. In most plans, the type of hospital room is the most common factor influencing the MBL. According to AXA, hospital rooms in Philippine hospitals start from Php 500 (ward) to as much as Php 6,000 (suite).* Therefore, you can maximize your coverage even with a simple room request.
Dental Coverage
If your health plan has included a dental coverage, you may avail any of the following provided that you have not exceeded the limit. Here is a list of covered dental services which include but not limited to:

Your health card is widely accepted in major hospitals. However, you can also use it in accredited clinics, health facilities and diagnostic centers. Moreover, there are dental clinics where you can use your account card as part of your benefits.
If you need to have a check up, you may do so anytime as long as your doctor is affiliated. You can also check the list of accredited doctors of to be more specific regardless of the hospital’s clinic location.
Accredited Doctors
In most cases, partner doctors also have clinics in affiliated hospitals of the company. The reception area will initially ask about your details and card info to assign an accredited doctor. Initially, you may need to provide the doctor specialization that you need based on symptoms.
Expired Card
You may need to renew your account if you have an expired one. It is best to use only your card with good standing to avail of the services. Depending on your subscribed policy, renewal of your account if fairly simple.
