Some patients report that they had it for free depending on the service availability or complete discounts from government agencies.
Philhealth can be used to cover a portion of the expenses but I usually see the surgery and doctor’s fee are discounted.
Why You Need Raspa
According to Cleveland Clinic, some patients may need this procedure for the following reasons:
- Therapeutic results
- To clean the insides of the uterus after a miscarriage
- Remove polyps that are usually benign
- Remove molar pregnancy or treat excessive bleeding
Remember that many health cards from HMOs will not cover this service. You may need to use your own money to pay for it. However, consultations and other services are usually covered by your account depending on its limit.
In the event that a senior citizen needs raspa, the ID may be used to avail discounts as mandated by the law. Medical procedures are usually covered so you can use your card to avail lower price rates.
I’ve come to realize that Raspa may be regarded as a medical term used in the Philippines only. In the west, it is usually referred to as D and C procedure (D & C) which means Dilation and Curettage. Generally, it means removing tissues from the uterus.
