Only a few hospitals offer the ERCP procedure. It is estimated that St. Luke’s offers it starting from Php 35,000 and up. The price of the test may be too high for regular patients. Makati Medical Center also offers it starting from Php 24,000.

You can still find a cheaper alternative in public hospitals especially those with charity programs like PGH. NKTI may also offer the procedure but one should get an appointment first.

The doctor may request for ERCP if you have the following:
- Abdominal pain
- Suspected of pancreatitis
- Potential tumors
- Possible blockage in the bile duct
Many of the hospitals that offer ERCP procedures are accredited by major HMO companies. For the procedure itself, it may be covered up to MBL subject to doctor’s prescription
Duration of the Test
Some patients may need to be confined or admitted to the hospital when undergoing the procedure. This is true for those with existing medical conditions. The package offered by many hospitals include room and board for such procedures.
In most cases, ERCP may take only 90 minutes to complete and the patient may go home the same day. Since this procedure may be the first step to find stones, it can also be a starting process to detect other problems like kidney stones.
