The price will vary depending on your stay at the hospital which usually reach up to 3 days. Medication will always be a part of the post surgery procedure and may cost Php 200,000 for 6 months.

We understand that this medical procedure can overwhelming and that ordinary people may not be able to avail it. To give you an idea, here is an estimated price list of the procedure among hospitals:

A cheap surgery package may start from Php 955,000. However, this is usually available after deductions are made. You may find a government hospital that offers charity surgery prices to lower the cost. NKTI may be your best option if you want a relatively lower price.

When Is It Necessary?

Johns Hopkins Medicine indicates that a kidney transplant is necessary if you have End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) sometimes called Stage 5 chronic kidney disease. At this point, your kidney will no longer function permanently and without a new one, you will need to undergo dialysis.

Is it required to confine in the hospital?

Yes. After surgery, you will be monitored to see if the organ functions well. You may need to stay at the hospital for a few days until full recovery.

Will I get benefits from Philhealth?

We have good news for you. Philhealth has increased the amount it covers for kidney transplant surgery up to Php 600,000. Your health insurance policy will determine if your surgery will be covered which most of them usually does.

Some health cards may cover a specific surgery type. However, the usual coverage includes the doctor’s fees, room and board and other non-surgical procedures.

Children’s surgery is more delicate which may require a different set of service. You may initially inquire about the cost and create an expenses plan to accommodate surgery and medication.

What are the requirements?

One of the requirements to undergo this procedure is that the donor is a blood relative of a Filipino citizen. You may coordinate with your doctor or health care providers about the necessary info.

      Importante na ikonsulta sa isang doctor ang iyong kalagayan. Karaniwang hindi libre ang kidney transplant at may kahirapan din makahanap ng donor.
