Based on existing rates, the cheaper option comes from a public hospital that may start from Php 2,300 and up.
A few years ago, I had this test at a private hospital in QC. The procedure took about 1 hour. I did feel the pricking of the needles but it was tolerable. Different body parts were tested and thankfully, the results show mild concerns only.
An EMG test looks for any abnormalities with muscle function in response to nerve stimulus. NCV means nerve conduction study which looks for abnormalities on the speed of electrical impulses through the nerves. It is also called Nerve Conduction Study. Usually, the doctor will recommend both to be taken by the patient.
Apart from EMG itself, the actual cost will depend on whether you will also need NCV/NCS as prescribed by the doctor. Sometimes, there are separate procedures for Electromyography and nerve conduction velocity or nerve conduction study.
Senior Citizens
Senior citizens may also undergo the test especially if they have weakness in muscles. Hospitals can offer discounts to senior citizens in order to have a lower price rate. Simply present your senior citizen ID to get a reduced price.
