I observed that government heart hospital do not render public health service with
minimum fee especially if the patient is a government employee, what is the pag-ibig contribution for? what is the universal health care for? what is the reciprocating benefits for the government worker who works for the government and serving for the people welfare?

I underwent heart bypass 14 years ago, 2007. Now I’m feeling difficulty in breathing again, and taking nitrates. Next step if these meds fail, would be angioplasty. What hospital would you recommend?

Hi, this site is not affiliated with any medical institutions. However, you can initially list some of the well known hospitals especially those with good track record on heart surgery.

  3. I saw an Ad about Marikina Valley , I think the cheapest Angiogram and Angioplasty.. Angiogram is just 45,000. Doctors doing are the same as St Luke’s

      Hello,
Please note that Angiogram is NOT the same as Angioplasty that’s why their respective prices are different.

Is there any institution the country can offer financially free for coronary Angiogram tests and coronary angioplasty surgery? Thanks alot.

  5. I will be placed with 7 stents during angioplasty my angioplasty and it will costs around 700k. So right now am considering second opinions of my case. Is there any institution in our country where to get help financially, any help would help.

  6. Does being a Philhealth member significantly reduces the high cost of angioplasty operation?

Thank you for the information. Usually in most hospitals, surgeries that relate to the heart are expensive.

Are you saying this is reasonable? It seems much higher than any of the other hospitals. When I asked the doctor before the operation the price he quoted 400, 000. When I got the bill it was 650, 000 and they won’t move from that figure.

Reasonable may be a relative term. However, surgical procedures involving the heart are in the higher bracket of expenditure. Most of the time, doctors will be able to quote only a conservative amount say for example in your case 400,000. But because there are so many factors at play (e.g. days of confinement, special use of equipment, sudden use of medication, or an increase in dosage of anesthesia), it may be difficult to have a fixed price rate. We cannot speak for the hospital since we are not affiliated with any institutions. What you can do is to request for a breakdown of expenses. Hospitals can provide such document for their patients. Just to illustrate, one patient at a hospital in QC had to undergo titanium implant in the lumbar spine. The initial quote of the surgeon was Php 900,000. However, the patient had to be confined for a week, together with additional therapies, antibiotics and additional doctor visits. The final bill that the patient incurred reached Php 1.3 million. Hope this helps.

Yes, i just had an angioplasty the other day in the same hospital with the same rate as you mentioned…

    3. it depends upon how many stent the patients needs. For example, if the patient needs 1 (meaning 1 blockage of heart, then one stent may cost 200-300k plus may or may not include room, operating cost doctors pf and more. If the patient needs 2 stents, meaning 2 blockages are needed to have angioplasty then the cost will be doubled. That how the prices varies.. It depends upon the condition of the patient, the more blockages the more in need of stents the higher the price will it cost. The hospital has different price ranges too.. St Luke’s has a state of the art facility but very expensive. Philippine Heart Center is one of the best hospital for the heart too but offers a lower price.

      1. You have to know how many stent was used. If there is one. De La Salle Cavite might be more expensive compared to other hospitals. It is comparable to the price in St Lukes.
