Surgery List and Types Price in Philippines

The price of surgery can range from Php 5,000 to Php 600,000 and above. Note that we provided this very wide range because the specific cost for any surgery type has many factors.

Personal Experience

For example, I had a minor surgery to remove a blood clot in my arm vein. It was quick and only required 30 minutes. The total bill was Php 5,000 including the surgeon’s fee.

A friend of mine had hernia surgery and was charged Php 24,000 in a private hospital. You see, a simple procedure does not need to be expensive. I also went home the same day without confinement.

Cheapest Hospitals

As usual, public hospitals tend to give the best price when it comes to medical services. If you are nearby, East Avenue Medical Center, PGH or Philippine Orthopedic, then you can expect lower prices.

Segments of the surgery are covered by most health cards. Note that there are limitations as to the type and amount of coverage and the maximum we have seen is Php 250,000. Some of the most common benefits include but are not limited to diagnostic exams, doctor’s fees and room and accommodation.

Philhealth will always be able to cover parts of the surgery. Simply present your ID or card before paying. In most hospitals, the Philhealth ID will be requested before the procedure in order to prepare for the medical cost breakdown.
