It is a government issues ID, usually with booklet, which serves as proof that the holder is a senior citizen. The card may be used to avail discounts from medical expenses and other basic necessities.

Medical Products
Medicines and supplements can be applied up to 20% discount using the ID. This includes both branded and generic medicines. Other medical devices and equipment are also covered such as but not limited to: wheelchairs, hearing aid, eye glasses, dentures and related products.

Services in Hospitals
Hospitals are mandated to provide discounts to seniors who avail services in their facilities. Apart from Philhealth and private health insurance or HMO, one may get additional discounts using the senior citizen ID.

How to Get Senior Citizen ID
Applying for a senior citizen ID is easy. Simply proceed to the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) at your local city hall or barangay hall.
