Free TB Treatment Medicine

Most of the government institutions under the dots program provide free medicines. However, you may also purchase a specific type of product brand if the doctor has advised you to do so.

See: Medicine Price List

Always make sure that you have the right prescription when buying a medicine.

TB DOTS Program

The DOTS or Directly Observed Treatment Strategy (also Directly Observed Therapy Short Course) is a program to treat TB patients.

This is usually a free service from the government so that patients can get medicines for TB and follow the regimen until they get proper treatment and recover. Some private hospitals offer the same service with a corresponding service price rate.

Duration of Treatment

How long is the treatment? In most cases, a minimum of 6 months is ideal as the treatment course for TB. With a healthy lifestyle, on time medicine intake and coordination with doctors, one can achieve recovery. Some patients may recover from pulmonary TB and get cured for about 9 months.
