Some may be ashamed of having cross-eyes but it is not a laughing matter. In the Philippines, the price of cross eyes (strabismus) surgery starts from Php 50,000 as the surgeon’s fee.
Cheapest Pricing
We inquired from different eye centers and hospitals and found that the cheaper rates are from public hospitals. For example, East Avenue Medical Center’s doctor said that it may start from an average of Php 80,000 as a package.
List of Expenses
As you know, surgery is not limited to a fixed price. In this type of eye correction for “duling“, you can expect to spend at an average of Php 80,000 to Php 100,000. It will include the doctor’s fee, eye tests, clearance, medicines and anesthesiologist.
Philhealth
We’ve found from the case rate of Philhealth that this surgery can be covered from Php 11,000 to Php 22,000. It is good news for all of us since more people will be assisted.
In terms of your health card, we expect that such surgery is not included in the standard benefits. As a pre-existing condition, you are limited only to doctor’s consultation, say for example with an ophthalmologist.

In one of our interviews, a 25 year old woman underwent the surgery and was quoted for Php 95,000 net. This amount is already deducted by Philhealth. The procedure was availed at a major hospital in Mandaluyong.
